XELION & Microsoft TEAMS Integration

Can I Use Teams as my Telephone System?

Yes you absolutely can, but Microsoft Teams as a Phone System has a very limited feature set and is missing fundamental components that 99% of our customers use every day. The 1% that could use it independently would have to pay significantly more to get the same service using Teams. For example, Teams offers limited reporting functionality, a critical requirement for any customer facing organisation. Xelion has full call reporting as standard and supports contact centre operation including wallboards, formulas and KPI information at no addition al cost to the standard user licence.

We have known a few customers that have gone down the “direct routing” method without fully understanding the limitations and are now waiting for a solution to get back all the features they had before, such as call recording. When speaking to our customers and go over the details, integrating with Microsoft Teams can sound complicated and expensive, so why is everyone making a big deal about Teams?

The answer is simple, Microsoft dominates the desktop arena and the collaboration version of Teams is superficially ‘free’ so people are going to ask what else it can do.
