FAQ's

Are ‘end of life’ and ‘end of support’ the same thing?

Simply put, no. The announcement by Microsoft is being referred to as ‘Windows 10 end of life’ but that isn’t quite accurate.

As of 14th October 2025 Microsoft will end support for Windows 10. This means that after that date Windows 10 will receive no new fixes, features, or security updates.

Machines running Windows 10 will continue to run but will become increasingly outdated and vulnerable.

What does the end of Windows 10 support mean?

Without going into too much detail, after 14th October 2025, Microsoft will no longer be providing free software updates, technical assistance, or security fixes for Windows 10.

This doesn’t mean that your Windows 10 computer will stop working, but it does mean that your computer becomes more vulnerable to security exploits.

Microsoft recommends that you upgrade your device to Windows 11 ahead of the Windows 10 support end date.

Is Windows 11 free?

So long as the computer meets the minimum software requirements, Windows 11 is free to upgrade to for Windows 10 users. If your computer doesn’t meet the minimum requirements, you will need to purchase a new one.

For people wanting to install Windows 11 onto a custom PC, or a new build, you will need to buy a licence and you can reach out to our team and we will provide a quote.
